Even the polar regions, which are known for their frigid temperatures, are gradually warming up, and according to scientists, the extent of sea ice surrounding Antarctica has now reached a record low. Global temperatures are continuously rising every day.
They've never encountered such extreme conditions before, and they predict that the ice extent will continue to decline before this year's summer melting season is over. As a result, there is currently less sea ice surrounding the Antarctic continent than at any other time in recent memory. Of course, since satellites began measuring the Antarctic ice extent in the late 1970s, concerns about the melting of the continent's ice have been present for a considerable amount of time.
Scientists using climate models project that the enormous West Antarctic ice sheet, which encircles the entire continent, will melt owing to levels of global warming. According to data recently provided by the World Meteorological Organization, sea levels have been rising more fast than ever in recent decades and will do so going forward, endangering millions of people. Furthermore, heating researchers have issued a warning that as sea ice melts away, it exposes ice sheets and their glaciers to waves that hasten their melting and collapse.
The world's meteorological organizations have reported that global warming has caused glaciers to melt and ice to disappear everywhere. Additionally, it has contributed to the thermal expansion of water, a phenomena in which everything heated expands. Additionally, the threat presented by increasing sea levels has been brought to the attention of UN Secretary-General Anthony Guterres. On a Biblical scale, immediate action is required to lessen the threat posed by rising global temperatures because, if left unchecked, global warming will accelerate exponentially as once the Earth loses its bright white spots that reflect excess heat into space and keep it cooler, it will also lose its protective cover of glaciers.
